OUR NEW PROJECT

SPECIAL HONEY of RAYA

The unique environment of the high Himalaya in the remote North-west corner of Nepal has an enormous, yet unused potential to yield a very very special honey.

UNIQUE and HIGHLY VALUED

because it is

ORGANIC: cultivated on virgin land

MEDICINALnectar of special flowers

SPECIAL     : high mountain nectar

UNIQUE      : from the high Himalaya

RARE          : produced nowhere else

Our initiative opens a new field of economic opportunities to the local farmers. Appropriate technologies and practices are introduced to develop market production. The experience will be shared with the whole of the region.

OUR NEW PROJECT

SPECIAL HONEY of RAYA

NEW SOURCE

of

INCOME

IS SO MUCH NEEDED

where there is drought there is hunger

where unstable climate inhibits productions

where land is scarce and the environment is harsh

where subsistence agriculture is the only resource for survival

where no employment opportunities exist

OUR NEW PROJECT

SPECIAL HONEY of RAYA

…….and THIS IS SO POSSIBLE

NECTAR is a rich and available resource – now it is wasted

NATURE offers free space and nectar and no land required

VIRGIN LAND in Humla has never seen chemicals

LABOUR is minimal and will not add a burden to the already hard-working farmers

LONG SHELF LIFE enables export through the protracted time on the road to the markets

OUR NEW PROJECT

SPECIAL HONEY of RAYA

OUR PARTNERS in the village are people disadvantaged by distance and socio-economic standing.

They are hard working farmers eager to break the cycle of poverty. The bee-farming initiative has the potential doing just this.

WE WORK TOGETHER to build on and expand local knowledge.

OUR PLAN  is  designed to

DEVELOP SUSTAINABILITY

INCREASE FOOD SECURITY

STRENGTHEN

                 THE LOCAL ECONOMY

ACHIEVE SELF SUFFICIENCY

OUR NEW PROJECT

INSULATED – to protect from the harsh cold of winter months

EFFICIENT– with frames and organic foundation, and separation between the  honey and the queen and brood

OUR NEW PROJECT

SPECIAL HONEY of RAYA
